Open Table Sunday

Bring a game. Join a game. Meet somebody new.

Sundays at Old World Libations are becoming a little more social.

Every Sunday | 1–6 PM
Free • No purchase required • Come alone or bring friends

Open Table Sunday is an informal gathering for anyone who enjoys board games, card games, conversation, or simply having a place to spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon with other people.

Come with your regular gaming group. Bring a friend or spouse. Bring your favorite game.

Or come alone. Seriously.

One of the reasons we're doing this is to create an easy, comfortable way for people who don't already have a group to meet others.

There is no admission charge and no required winery purchase. We're simply providing the place, some games, and a way to make it easier for people to find one another.

How Open Tables Work

We use small colored flags to take the awkwardness out of wondering whether you're welcome to approach a table.

🟢 Green — Open Table

A green flag means there is room in the game and the people at the table are happy to have someone else join them.

You don't need an invitation. Walk over, introduce yourself, and ask about the game.

🔵 Blue — Full Table, Visitors Welcome

A blue flag means the game currently has its maximum number of players.

You're still welcome to come over, watch, learn how the game works, talk with the players, or see whether another round will be starting soon.

No Flag — Private Game

Not every game has to be open. If a table doesn't display a flag, please allow that group to enjoy their game privately.

Coming Alone?

Please do.

You will not be the odd person who showed up without friends. Open Table Sunday is specifically designed so that someone can walk through the door alone and have a reasonable way to find people to play with.

Look for a green flag and introduce yourself.

If you're uncomfortable doing that, just let us know you're looking for a game and we'll do our best to point you toward an open table.

Never Played the Game Before?

That's fine too.

A green flag doesn't mean, “Experienced players wanted.”

It means, “There is a seat here and you're welcome.”

We ask everyone participating in Open Table Sunday to be patient with people learning a new game and to remember that the goal is to have an enjoyable afternoon together.

Do I Need to Bring a Game?

No.

We already keep a collection of games at Old World Libations for guests to enjoy.

However, if you have a favorite board game, card game, strategy game, party game, or something unusual you'd like to introduce to people, bring it along.

Do I Have to Buy Wine?

No.

There is no admission charge and no required purchase associated with Open Table Sunday.

Of course, our normal winery offerings will be available if you'd like something while you play.

What Kind of Games?

Whatever people enjoy.

Cards, classics, strategy games, party games, cooperative games, quick games, complicated games—we aren't trying to dictate what gets played.

Part of the fun should be discovering something you've never played before.

The Only Real Rules

Be welcoming.

Be respectful.

If you put out a green flag, genuinely make room for someone new.

Be patient with beginners.

Take care of games that belong to someone else.

And remember that the person walking through the door alone may have needed a little courage to do it.

Adults primarily / 21+ / family-friendly / children welcome with adults

Come alone. Bring friends. Bring a game. Or find a green flag and pull up a chair.
